The Plan

Focused Investments, Long-Term Benefits

The 2025 bond referendum, with a one time $5 million matching grant from the IRRRB, proposes high-value investments in our performing arts, outdoor learning facilities and athletics. These programs are more than just “extras”—they’re essential parts of a well-rounded education that support academic success, teamwork, mental health, and readiness for life after graduation.

If voters approve the referendum this November, the proposed plan would allow Cook County students to grow, perform, and compete in safe, equitable facilities close to home.

Revitalize the Arrowhead Center for the Arts

  • Modernize the only performing arts auditorium in Cook County with updated lighting and better seating to improve accessibility and performances.

  • Improve safety and versatility by adding features like a catwalk and drop-down screen.

Support Learning Outside the Classroom

  • Create new outdoor learning spaces that support group activities, hands-on projects, and wellness programming.

  • Improve campus walkways and access to make it easier and safer for everyone to get around campus.

  • Build a full track and field so that student-athletes can train safely without traveling long distances to train on a track surface and practice field events. This would also allow our team to host track meets at home for the first time.

  • Add a synthetic turf field so that teams can practice every day of the week, regardless of weather or field conditions. This field will support several teams including girls’ softball, providing equitable access for both boys and girls sports.

  • Add lights and other safety improvements to the baseball field, including safer footing and ADA-compliant seating.

  • Improve restrooms, concession stands, bleachers, scoreboards and other amenities so that our outdoor spaces are ready to host regional events and better serve our students and community members.
